We are a small shop with an amazing array of just about everything, from farmhouse to fancy. Located on the south end of Main Street in Dayton, Iowa. We are (surprisingly) not that far out of the way when you are headed somewhere else. You should stop by some weekend.

We sell chalk painted furniture, antique and vintage furniture, home décor, lawn art, apparel, signage of all kinds as well as thoughtful gift items.

We carry an assortment of mineral chalk paint* and associated supplies.

Who we are …

a couple of retired/semi-retired folks who spend their “free” time visiting some favorite haunts, seeking treasures at flea markets, yard sales, barn sales, estate sales, ratty old barns even roadside freebies (really). Over the past year we’ve met many interesting people, heard some very interesting stories, usually about the background of some piece of furniture or another.

It really is a fun way enjoy our time together. We’ve logged a lot of miles, dined in too many restaurants to count and come to the conclusion that almost everywhere in Des Moines is near the Hickman / Merle Hay intersection.

This first year, in spite of all of this discombobulation going on in the world, making new friends (masked), seeing Iowa up close (even the heartbreaking damage caused by the derecho), being in the shop and being creative has been memorable as well as fun. – Mike
